This fine golden rum is matured slowly in American white oak barrels before being expertly blended to create the final product. Significantly smoother on the palate than many other brown spirits, the quality stands out whether it's straight or mixed. The agreeable distinctive flavour is great on the rocks but equally best mixed with your favourite mixer or in cocktails. In Barbados, Cockspur & Coke is a popular favourite. Five Star is light and golden in colour with an uncomplicated, pleasant smell. Its taste is extremely smooth, round and warm, which becomes spicy on the palate, getting slightly buttery towards the end.

Cockspur Old Gold Rum

Cockspur Old Gold is a perfect blend of pure light-bodied double distilled rum and a small amount of full-bodied pot still rum. This 'Special Reserve' of our finest old rums is slowly matured in oak barrels, which were previously used for the aging of bourbon. The longer the rum is aged, the more mellow and smooth it becomes. Old Gold can be enjoyed over ice or with your favourite mixer. This fine aged rum is dark and golden in colour and captures the light well. Its nose is a bouquet of cream and vanilla scents mixed with natural honey. Old Gold's taste is silky, sweet and smooth.

Cockspur V.S.O.R.Vintage Blend

Aging the best rum takes time, intuition and skill. Every year, a few select barrels of rum, from locations known only to the Master Blender, are laid aside to give the smoothness and colour a great rum should possess. They sleep under his watchful eye for many extra years until he decides the rum has been perfected according to the founder's original blend. The result is what we call Very Special Old Reserve, or V.S.O.R - a unique blend of vintage rum for your enjoyment. V.S.O.R. contains the oldest rums we have on reserve at the distillery, the majority of these being 12 years and older. It has a beautiful sherry red, intense colour, with aromas that contain undertones of oak & short bread. V.S.O.R. has a velvety smooth and deeply rounded taste, with tones of wood and earth accompanied by a prolonged spiciness.

Sir Gary VSOR

Garfield St. Auburn Sobers- for 20 years, he ruled the cricket world supreme! During his test career he amassed over 8,000 runs, with 26 centuries and a batting average of 57.78. He also took 235 wickets at an average of 34.03 runs. His most memorable achievements were the six consecutive sixes he struck in a six-ball over, and the 365 runs scored in a Test innings - a record that stood for 36 years.

For these outstanding achievements and his contribution to the game, he was knighted by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II in 1975, and in 1998 Barbados declared him a National Hero.

'Sir Garry' made his test debut 50 years ago in 1954. To honor the remarkable achievements of this great man, we have created the Cockspur V.S.O.R. Garfield Sobers Special Edition Rum. Each bottle not only bears 'Sir Garry's' signature, it is also individually numbered. It will only be bottled in the year 2004.

Like 'Sir Garry', Cockspur VSOR has also received recognition for excellence, winning international gold awards for quality and acclaim from connoisseurs around the world. In fact, one of VSOR's biggest fans over the years has been 'Sir Garry' himself. As he often says, "It's my rum of choice, every time."
